Legal & Attribution
First-pass source and attribution notes
This page is a practical first pass, not legal advice. It is here to make DrumBeet's major sources and current attribution posture easy to inspect while the project continues to mature.
MIDI corpus and generation
- DrumBeet uses Google Magenta open-source libraries and models for browser-side and generation experiments. Magenta projects are published by Google as open-source software; see Magenta.js and Magenta.
- DrumBeet uses the Groove MIDI Dataset, which Google makes available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license.
- Other MIDI phrases in the active corpus are produced programmatically or from personal recordings controlled by the project owner.
Audio samples
DrumBeet's built-in drum kit playback also includes redistributable sample material tracked in the repository attribution records. Current sources include FreePats MuldjordKit samples under CC BY 4.0 and FreePats World Percussion samples under CC0 1.0.
The detailed local attribution record lives in
attributions/drum-samples.md.
